I want to remove the old plumbing in my old, small house. I have chosen PEX. If you just run PEX to the valves, then it would be wobbly; correct? Also, I just want to do this one small house so what tool should I purchase to do the job that is most cost effective. I don’t want to spend $300 on a PEX tool or a one-time job. Thanks a lot.

We are having bids done to replumb all our exposed pipes (hot and cold) in our basement. We have a leak in one of the hot lines that has gotten increasingly worse in the past few days. We have decided to use PEX, but I wonder if this is a project we could tackle ourselves. We would be completely replacing everything that is exposed from the meter to the runs to the kitchen and first floor bath. Thanks
